In the box, within the British Airways website, you will find "Your Question", which includes each of the answers you need for your claim. If data is missing, your claim will be delayed, as British Airways will have to contact you to complete it.

How much compensation from British Airways am I entitled to for flight delays?
In the event of a delay on your flight with British Airways, you have already seen the steps to follow to make a claim. However, the amount will vary depending on the time of arrival at the destination. First of all, it is not the same if you arrive hours late, days late, or if your flight is cancelled with less than 15 days notice.
If you arrive at your destination 3 or more hours later than the scheduled time, you are also entitled to claim financial compensation, except if the delay is due to extraordinary circumstances such as weather conditions. The amount you receive will vary depending on the distance to your destination. Thus, if the journey is up to 1500 km, the amount to be claimed is 250 euros. Between 1501 and 3500 km, the amount to be claimed is 400 euros. If the journey exceeds 3500 km, then the amount to be claimed is 600 euros.
If the flight is delayed for several days, then the airline has to bear several costs. A transfer to a hotel for the respective night(s) must be ensured, as well as finding you the place of descent. Of course, if the cancellation occurs while you are at the airport, provide you with tickets for food, drinks and refreshments.
What should British Airways compensate for the delay becomes flight cancellation?
In the event of cancellation by the air carrier British Airways, a passenger must be compensated for a flight if less than 15 days' notice is given before the scheduled time of the flight. The only exception is if the cancellation is due to extraordinary circumstances that could not have been avoided (political instability, weather conditions incompatible with the performance of the flight, safety risks, unexpected flight safety deficiencies, airport congestion, air traffic management and strikes affecting the air carrier's operations).
The only way British Airways can do this is if the flight cancellation is carried out between two weeks and seven days before the scheduled departure time. In addition to that, British Airways must ensure that alternative transport is offered to allow for a departure no more than two hours before the original departure time of the flight. As this is a company problem and the passenger has been checked, it is up to British Airways to provide a solution, by law.
If the passenger is notified less than seven days before the scheduled departure time, in addition to not being provided with another flight, then the British Airways passenger can claim under similar conditions as for the delay. The criterion will be according to its extent for a higher or lower amount with respect to the cancelled flight.
Thus, if the cancellation has occurred on flights of less than 1,500 km, the cancellation claim should be EUR 250. For intra-Community flights, i.e. flights longer than 1,500 km, the amount will be up to 400 euros. For transoceanic flights, generally between 1,500 and 3,500 km, as well as other flights not included in the previous points, the amount will rise to 600 euros. Compensation is paid by bank transfer and should not be delayed for more than 21 days, in any case, if the claim is successful.
What if you are denied boarding at British Airways?
If you are at the airport and are refused boarding, speak to British Airways staff on the ground. They will be able to provide you with information on how to make alternative travel arrangements, as well as claim compensation and request reimbursement of the voucher if you ultimately decline to travel.
As in the previous cases, British Airways must pay for ground transport, accommodation, food and drink. However, this will be to the extent that the costs are in line with British Airways's expense policy. You will also be entitled to compensation in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 261/2004. To check what you are entitled to claim, it is advisable to look at the information on your rights in case of flight delays or cancellations (also due to overbooking) of British Airways.
For flights of less than 1500 km, the amount is 250 euros. Between 1501 to 3500 km, then it will go up to 400 euros. In case of overbooking on flights over 3500 km, the compensation can be up to 600 euros.
How much is the compensation for British Airways incidence with luggage?
British Airways must take care of baggage incidents, which may consist of loss, delay or damage to your checked baggage. These must be reported immediately at the airport on arrival.
Once this first step has been taken, you will be given a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) at the arrivals desk. This can be used as a reference to check if there is indeed any new or updated information regarding the tracking of your lost, broken or damaged baggage.
How do I claim if my bag is lost with British Airways?
When you, as the affected consumer, have made the claim, please note that you will be asked to provide all copies you can provide of the original receipts for items that have been damaged, delayed or lost. Damaged items and original receipts must therefore be retained until the claim has been completed, until the claim is finalised.
In no case will a replacement baggage receipt be accepted in lieu of the original receipt for baggage that has been damaged, damaged or lost.
British Airways must arrange to send the baggage to the customer within 24 hours in case of loss. Under normal conditions, most baggage is located and delivered within 72 hours.
